Car Import Regulations
Different countries have different rules that regulate the import of used cars from overseas. Some are very free, others have year restrictions, others have compliance requirements which might be enforced with an inspection on the Japan-side or after arrival in the destination country. It is also common for countries to use a combination of these methods to regulate the quality and number of used Japanese vehicles entering.

You need to remember that we are in Japan and not on the ground at your end, so please make sure you double check with the relevant government authorities in the country you are importing to.
