The Export Process From the Car Auction In Japan to You

From before you even get the car at auction in Japan, right up to it arriving at the port in your country, Provide Cars handles all the details of the car export process making it as smooth as possible for you.

The first thing you will notice in dealing with Provide Cars is that there is no language barrier. All of our customer service staff are fluent in at least Japanese and English, so you don't have to worry about auction inspection reports being mistranslated or your needs nor being understood. With so many other companies offering similar services, we know that one reason our customers buy from us year after year is that they trust us and know that we are there to help them whenever they need it.

When we get a vehicle at auction, the first thing we need to do is to get it to the port where it will be shipped from. We buy from over 90 car auctions all around Japan and have a long relationship with a network of car transportation companies, shipping companies, shipping agents and yards throughout the country.

Although we are based in the Osaka area, we will bring your car to the port closest to the car auction we purchased it at to keep your costs as low as we can.

As soon as we have the papers from the original owner, we start working on the deregistration and customs forms required to export the car. Some countries also require additional compliance testing to be carried out on the Japan side prior to export. Examples of these tests would be the JEVIC and JAAI tests. We will arrange these tests for your car if your country requires this. Please contact us to find out more if this applies to you.

Once we have a clear idea of when the car will be ready for export, we will start to look for a booking on a ship. Our goal is to get the car to you as soon as possible. This is both in your interest and ours: The quicker you get your car from Japan, the quicker you can sell it, and the sooner you will come back to buy more from us.

To this end, we work with a network of multiple shipping companies and shipping agents to get the best ship at the best prices for you. Of course, since we ship thousands of vehicles around the world every year, we are in a position to negotiate better deals for our customers.

For many countries, we will export the car to you FOB ("Free On Board"), which basically means that the car is shipped and then you pay for the shipping cost directly to the shipping company on arrival at your end. When it is not possible to ship FOB, we will charge you the shipping cost and pay the shipping company at this end.

We send most cars using car carrier, or "RORO" (Roll On Roll Off) shipping. However, if your country does not have RORO shipping available, we can export to you using container shipping.

In addition to the normal shipping requirements, we will also arrange for our experienced loaders to pack your cars in the container. Our goal is that your cars will be protected from mishandling of the container. This is why we use strong steel supports and steel wires, and never use wooden frames which can crack under pressure.

You can see the status of your car and its progress through the process in our online stock screen. Once it has left and we have received final payment from you, we will send you the documentation for the car. This documentation will be used by you or your customs agent to import the car at your end.
